Information on the Fall 2009 Unit of Clinical Pastoral Education in Social Justice Ministries

• The CPE unit will run 14 weeks.
• It will begin on September 8 and end December 11.
• We will meet for 8 hours (8:30 to 4:30) on Tuesdays for our CPE Peer group.
• We will be meeting at St Joseph’s Children’s Home.

In July we will be consolidating all UTS email accounts onto one, in-house system located on a brand-new server.  In preparation for this transition we ask that you take some time in the next week or so to clean out your email account of any unnecessary emails; pay special attention, not only to your INBOX, but also to your SENT, JUNK, and DELETE email boxes.

The attached powerpoint presentation gives a bit of basic information in how to approach this task.

City of Lakes Consortium CPE Center is offering two units of CPE. The first runs May 18, 2009 – July 31, 2009 and still has openings! The second runs August 24, 2009-December 18, 2009; it begins full-time for two weeks at the end of the summer and then slows down to part time through the fall.

The City of Lakes Consortium CPE Center is a consortium of long term care facilities (The standing members of which are; Minnesota Veteran’s Home, Walker Methodist Health Center, Benedictine Health Center Minneapolis, and Mount Olivet Careview) that provide a variety of urban long term care clinical settings.

Technology Resources for Student

E-mail
All degree and non-degree students are assigned an e-mail address. While this will not eliminate all of the paper flyers in your mailbox, faculty and staff will try to use your United e-mail address as much as possible.

You will need to check your United e-mail during the first week of classes.

This summer, there will be a unit of CPE offered in community based settings--ranging broadly from long term care to homeless shelters to exoffender reentry programs.  The unit will run from May 18 to July 31, 2009. 

Interviews have already begun, so please contact the the CPE supervisor by phone or email ASAP.
