SEMINARY ANNOUNCEMENTS

Time is running out!

Your participation in the Annual Fund is immensely important this year. We have 700 donors so far, and we want to conclude the year with at least 200 more to demonstrate strong support of United and to raise the remaining $100,000 to reach our $1 million goal. Can we count on you to be one of these 200 all important donors to make a gift before June 30?
A gift of any size will make a difference.

Make an online gift: visit our website
http://www.unitedseminary.edu/Giving/make.asp
or phone Vonda Pearson at 651-255-6115 to make a credit card gift.

Thank you very much for your
generous support of United.

MARY MCNAMARA HONORED
In acknowledging Mary's transfer to The Presbytery of the Twin Cities, The Presbytery of New York City made a resolution on May 19, 2009 expressing their deep gratitude to Rev. Mary McNamara for her ministry, her wise counsel, her generosity of spirit, her graciousness in all things, her friendship and her faithfulness to the Gospel. They further commended her with their prayers, continuing affection and respect to her accepting the call to be the next President of United Theological Seminary of the Twin Cities. MONDAY MORNING ON SUMMER BREAK
This is the last issue of Monday Morning for the 2008-09 academic year. The weekly newsletter will resume when classes begin in September. Watch the UTS website and check out United's Facebook pages for updates and news about the seminary over the summer.

SUMMER EMAIL CONVERSION
The End is Near...for our old email server that is!
In mid-July, United will consolidate all its email accounts onto one in-house system on a brand new server. With everyone on the same system (staff, faculty, students, alums), email communication problems should be few and far between; at least, that’s the hope. In preparation for this brave new world, please check your current United email account and clean out any old, unnecessary email; be sure to look through your SENT, JUNK, and DELETED message files as well as your INBOX. The transfer to the new server will be that much smoother if there is a minimum of extraneous email that needs to be moved. Tutorials on handling the changes to student email will be available before fall term begins. If you have questions, contact Bee Yang or Dale Dobias.

UTS Student Bob Caruso's book entitled The Old Catholic Church: Understanding the Origin, Essence, and Theology of a Church that is Unknown and Misunderstood by Many in North America is now available for pre-order through Cokesbury Bookstore or Amazon. Bob writes that the book is much more than a mere history book about Old Catholicism by focusing on its historical origins to better explain the eucharistic nature of the local catholic Church; to which he simultaneously highlights some of the real struggles faced by Independent Old Catholics in North America with regard to this trinitarian and eucharistic understanding of the one, holy, catholic, and apostolic Church.
